HPS 0626 Development of Modern Biology

This course explores major transformations in the history of biology from the rise of Darwin's theory of evolution to contemporary genomics. Along the way we will consider misguided efforts to control human breeding, the invention of biology as an experimental science, the molecular biology revolution, and controversies surrounding biological diversity. This course is offered in the spring 2018 term.
